HOW DO I KNOW IF THE SITE IS SECURE OR INSECURE?
If you are using Internet Explorer 4.0
or later you will see a little lock in the status bar at the bottom of the Web page. Double-click on this icon and you will see the exact type of security used.
If you are using Netscape 3.0 you will see a solid key with a blue background as an indication of a secured site.
If you are using Netscape 4.0 the "lock" icon appears in two places within the window-Main Menu Command Toolbar (top) and Status Line (bottom, far left-hand corner). The lock is always open until a user accesses a secure site. Once this takes place the icon "locks" and becomes highlighted.
